NIS 2006 Activation Problems
I have got to know about the problem in Norton's softwares that it is again asking for the activation key even after it is fully cracked and working for months. After seeing so many emails i had came to the conclusion that the servers at symantec are now checking the serial key each time you update your virus definitions. Therefore we advise you that you try to avoid the Live Update function if you want your NIS 2006 to be working as before, otherwise it will became crippled too.If your copy of NIS is asking for the activation key again, then plz reformat your system, crack the trial copy, install it and update the virus database using intelligent updater only. Do Not ever use Live Update. Or else use the combination of Avast Antivirus + Zone Alarm Firewall. I am also using it for over six months and no virus or worm entered my system till date. Now it's ur choice...

Youre right, I too encountered this problem 1-2 hours back...Since I dont fancy reformatting my system for getting an antivirus to work, I'm going with your advice and downloading avast and zone alarm..let see how it works out..:)
yip i got tomuch expencive stuff on and it takes to long toreupload everything my pc to reformat and i only trust norton couldnt you just renew the keycodes
Same thing has happened to me, they have also banned more than one key code.
Yep,mine too is banned a couple hours ago.Hey guys try to update the key codes...I think u can do it.It will help a lot of people..

GOSH... Symantec beat u guys this time.. and for the first time, a crack team have no solutions to fight back....
Don't give up, show Symantec what u r made of...
blah never liked symantec products anyway so i just remove it from my HDD

NIS2005 have the same problem, but it can be reactivated easily.. just that it will get annoying when it keeps asking for reactivation

just installed xone alarm and avast(the free home version) and uninstalled norton. Avasrt seems to have detected a ciuple of trojans and viruses that norton wasnt able to...great advise guys! Thanks

Had the same prob, uninstalled Systemworks 2006 cleaned reg with Reg Mech and re-installed systemworks(internet disconnected), It did not ask for product code only informed me that product was already registered but my auto updates are now expired. i now need to find a crack for renewal of updated everything else working OK

I think it's not necessary to reformat your system. Just uninstall your application(NIS2006) and reinstall it and the serials will work again.

i back to NIS 2005 yestarday
but today i have big trouble:
my browsers closed automaticly (Maxthon, IE, FireFox) after some minutes
and I cannt find why its occur
and i have on my second computer (at work) NIS 2005 (NIS 2006 never was installed there) already 6 months, and today this occur on my work's computer too
on 2 computers in 1 day
i haven't move some data from 1 to 2nd computer. check with 3-4 spyware, trojan remover and etc, but not found any spy, virus or someone
may be u hear about this trouble? or may be symantec does this to NIS 2005 illegal copies

Zone Alarm antivirus is not a good antivirus which comes with its security 2006 U can try Zone alarm pro with avast or bitdefender.I suggest u go for AVG or if protection is top priority then McAfee is worth some consideration

I was wondering, do you have the serial number for AVAST pro? and why are the antivirus databases of AVAST home are so small, they ar like 0.03 Kb. i dunno y?? thanks.
Ya, we have the Avast AV Pro Serial. You may visit our forum at http://cdsgroup.byethost31.com for the same. Avast AV updates are so small because it is incremental i.e. only the newest virus updates are downloaded and then merged into the main database. This way you have to download less size of updates. Also, since updates are released every 4 hours, it is the best protection that i have seen.
wELL, then what is the difference between the for example Norton AV and Avast AV virus database updates?? cuz as u know NAV updates are about 2-3 MBs every time...
And also does Avast gets like whole database when i download it first, so i won't have any old viruses on my comp?
bear with me I am going to try to explain what happened to me. on one computer i changed the date and it asked for activation again, on another the power went out and it said my subscription had expired. On both computers, i was able to uninstall the program completely and after it was uninstalled, i had to go into regedit and searched for keyword symantec. For each key it found i deleted it. there were two or three keys that i could not delete so i right clicked on the keys and changed the properties to allow me to change the key. This allowed me to delete the key. I then restarted the computer and reinstalled NIS and it worked great.
Does anybody knows the serial for AVAST AV pro????

hi, i downloaded a NIS 2006 trail, which has file name NIS06910 instead of NIS06900 as stated in u'r instrustions, sysmantec may have modified some file in it since it give error msg when i try to patch it with your trail to full patch.it would be of great help if u publish a patch file for the NIS06910 file
